View ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 (Vista 20P) Zones?

I have moved into a house with a Safewatch Pro 3000 system already installed. I have determined the install and master codes and am attempting to establish monitoring with a company other than ADT. The monitoring company needs to know how the zones are configured. What is the easiest way to figure this out? I have an alpha keypad that can display prompts. Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to figure out your zones is to open each one, one at a time, and check the keypad for the zone number or name (if programmed in).

if you have glassbreak detectors this is a little harder but I have found that throwing a brick through the window will trip them. (sorry, bad attempt at humor

Thanks. What about panic buttons? How do identify what zone each is associated with?

is your system being monitored now?
if so, call your monitoring station and put your system in test.
set off both of your panics with about 2 minutes between each one.
call the monitoring station back and ask what zones they rcved.

if not monitored test one and check the system log to determine what zone was alarmed.....

Since you have access to programming, you would go into programming section *56 to look at the zone configuration. Since you are likely sending contact ID format, the actual reporting codes won't really matter much.

You really need a copy of the install manual (Vista 20P will work for this) to be able to follow the steps. It's not intuitive, and you need the reference to know what the info on any given screen means.

Thanks. I found a copy of the install manual and now understand how to enter zone programming (*56) and have a description of what the screens mean. One question: after selecting a zone, as long as I just press * and nothing else, will I just cycle through the various screens without changing any settings?

Yup. As long as you are just looking and don't change data, no harm, no foul.
