replacing Adenco keypad. Nothing works after
Hello all,
I just replaced my Adenco/ADT old keypad for the new Honeywell 6150 and now nothing is working.
I use to have ADT but cancel their service. Quite expensive for me. So now I have to to all the service here (the monitoring company doesn't do it).
I had to replace the old Adenco Vista 10SE since the numbers were not being transmitted right any more and the replacement I was told to use the Honeywell 6150.
The keypad is wired, but all the rest of the system is wireless.
I install it, and immediately I received the "Check 09" message.
I do not have '09' device, so reading some info online looks like my new keypad is not recognizing the wireless device/devices
I do not the master password and I try it with no luck.
I try to change the "address" of the keypad from 31 to any other number, but them the keypad is dead, so I left it on 31
The info on 'Check 09' I could found is: "Indicates that communication between control and a zone expander or wireless receiver is interrupted. Check the wiring and DIP switch settings on the units"
The keypad and the board doesn't have DIP switch (not that I can see).
Now, besides all that, the keypad says that I have BAT problems. It's a very new battery, I installed it yesterday, with the new keypad...
any help?
Thank you

If you don't have a seperate wireless reciever board for your system, then your old keypad may have been a RF model that had the wireless reciever integrated into it. In that case, you either need a different keypad model, or to at least temporarily to reconnect the old keypad.

I went to check my old keypad it it's a SA 6128 RF
I'm assuming the 'RF' at the end means it's what you refer right?
Note that my old keypad has 4 wires going into it.(not sure how important it is).
So you point two options: different replacement keypad or temporarily one.
Do you know which model would replace the SA6128RF? (for sure not the 5160 Honeywell)
I installed the old keypad back. All seams that is working now, as it was before.
The problem is that the 'number 1' on the old keypad is not working any more (I guess the contact wears out), so I cannot disarm the system via keypad.
So any solution would do: find a replacement keypad or find a replacement for the contacts.

For now, you can wire the old keypad in directly at the main board location to handle your wireless needs and put the working keypad in at the regular keypad location to arm and disarm (the system will support about 8 keypads)
What you need is either a 6160RF or a 6150RF keypad
Look at the Honeywell site: http://www.security.honeywell.com/hsce/products/keypad/index.html

What I will do for now will just re-install the old keypad, 6128RF and disarm it using my keyfob.
Then I will order a new keypad (the store next door doesn't have it) 6150RF.
The price difference to the 6160RF is not bit, about $15 do have a words display.... The install would have any difference?
Then, with the new unit, do I have to just swap it or do I need to program something in order to the new unit recognized the area?
Thank you

I JUST, I mean yesterday, replaced my old Ademco 6128 keypad for the new 6160. Just conencted the wires and WALA! No programming needed. Only thing I did program, was the Zone names. IE- Zone 1 - Front Door.
Very easy.
Very easy.
