How do i program a dsc panel with a laptop?
Hi, i have already instaled the software dsc2002, but a want to communicate with the panel in local remote to program them, i have the pc link too.

i already program a various model of dsc manualy (with a keypad), i work with an electronics security company in Puerto Rico and dsc is one of the line that we install but now i have a laptop and i want to grow the manner of programming in local remote.

The operation manual for the software is a PDF file that is probably in the same directory/folder as the software is stored in. If the person who installed the software for you didn't copy the the manual, you or he will need to get it from the DSC website.
Since you are already used to DSC practices, you should't have any difficulties with the software.

Realistically, I've used both methods. Programmming via keypad is faster. Only plus points of using the PC is backing up the programming, and if you use alpha-numeric keypads. Bad points it takes time to boot up your laptop, enable downloading, download, change programming, upload programming, etc. - even for a simple change like zone type, this will probably take you 10 minuites, where as off a keypad may take you 30 seconds.
