System check

Hello,
I have a little over 5 year old house. Few weeks ago I have noticed that the system check light on the control was on. I have pushed the button with the check mark to see what the problem is and the zone 2 light started blinking and it was beeping nonstop. I guess the problem is some how related to zone 2 (the garage door). However, when I open the garage door, the light indicating that door is open still works. Also, I still can arm and un-arm successfully. Is there anything that I can check on this? Please let me know and thanks for your help.

From reading the information on your keypad door I would say you have a low battery. you need to replace the UB1245 battery in your panel. this will take care of your system trouble.

these batteries will last about 4 to 6 years depending on the system.

You should be able to get one at your local battery supply store.

Thank you for replay.
I have searched on internet for UB1245 battery, including local store inventory and looks like they don’t have exact model, but have compatible replacement battery. I assume it should work. Should I power off to replace the battery? Thanks again for your help.

you should not have to power down to replace the battery.

Just make sure the replacement is a 12v 4.5 amp hour battery.

You don't need to power down. The batteries aren't specific. Most alarm systems will charge any battery up to about 12ah without a problem.

I have replaced the battery, but the trouble light is still on. I have tested the old battery and it had only 7 volts, so it needed to be replaced. Is there anything else that I can check? Thanks again for your help.

Might give it some time. Most sytems only do a battery check test once a day or every few hours.
