Door Bell

I have a garage apartment next to my house with a covered walkway connecting the two. Each building has its own doorbell, transformer & chime.
Currently I have the garage apartment set for a single ring & the house for a double ring.
I would like it to ring once in the house & in the garage if garage button is presssed. Also I would like to ring twice in the house & the garage if the house button is pressed.
Is there a way I can connect the 2 systems? There is no problem running a wire between the 2 buildings.
Thank You.

You might want to look at the doorbell displays at your local Home Despot or the like. There are several models that allow you to have different rings for up to 6 or more doors (you pay a bit more for this trick). Really, it's the simple solution. You would have to run some low voltage wiring between the two buildings, but it's pretty straight forward.

There are more complicated options, but this is the simple one.
