Smile DSC - 585 Handshake

Hi,

Anybody knows how to set up the handshake or how to disable it?
The dsc calls and waits for a handshake in order to transmit the dtmf contact ID tones, but i cant figure out what should i give as a handshake. The manual dont gives any reference about it.

Thanks a lot

Martin

Why are you attempting to disable the handshake? What are you trying to achieve?

I suspect that he is trying to get it to call a number that is not an alarm receiver. The "handshake" is a combination of tones generated by the alarm reciever. On most it's around 2300hz, but it's a pretty specific thing.

If you are trying to get the panel to call a portable phone, just use the "pager" format, or the "residential dial" (where any key except 3, 6 or 9 will work).
