Exclamation Ademco Keypad 6149 - No Backlit - help ?

hi everyone, its my first time on this forum, found great help from here. and trying to find another help by writing here.

problem is that i just installed Ademco Vista12 system at home with keypad model number 6149, and there is no LCD backlit.

according to Ademco website here are specs for this keypad:

- Fixed-English LCD displays system status at a glance
- Portrait design – 75mm wide
- Four programmable function keys
- Soft-touch rubber keys are continuously backlit for greater visibility
- Piezoelectric sounder with audible beeps to indicate system status and entry/exit delay

can someone here plz confirm if this keypad has LCD backlit or just keypad backlit, thanks.

This is typical for an older model keypad. Your keys are illimunated, but not the display.

I've never heard of a 6149.

The 6148 took the place of the 6128. Neither of these have the screen backlit only the keys. Move up to the 6150 it has both backlit.

According to the Honeywell Site, this keypad was actually made for the export market. It's just dumb luck you tripped across one on the auction site. Basically, it's a regular fixed keypad turned sideways (sorta...).

its alright except it would be hard to workaround with it in night time.

did not realize at all at the time of auction on eBay. you are right its hard to imagine these days a LED display without backlit. sort of hard luck.
