Question DSC PC1555/Power 632 problem

Hi, I have a DSC PC1555/Power 632 installed in my house, it's working ok except for motion detectors I think. When the alarm is armed and the entry door is opened and the motion detector detects me the alarm starts to sound, so I have to get running into my house to deactivate it. I have the installer's manual but I don't what to do (or what's wrong). I think this problem is related to zone definitions but I don't know what zone definition assign to motion detector neither how to assign it. Can you help me please?

See the following thread:
http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=314104

You want to set the motion detector as type 4 (interior) or type 5 (interior stay/away). The interior stay/away is usually the better choice for most residences, as it automatically bypasses if you arm in stay mode, or if you arm in away mode and don't actually leave.

The tricky part: Do you have the installer code? The factory default is 5555.

Hi, I tried to set the following configuration:
*8 5555 001 01 06 03 03 03 03 00 00

But my alarm still fires when I open my entry door. When I was setting the above configuration, after entering each zone definition (01, 06, 03, ...) my keypad emitted some very quickly beeps, when I entered the last zone definition it get me back to programming mode, are these beeps normal??

what do you think could be wrong??

thanks in advance

By your listing, you entered your zones as follows
1=standard delay
2=delay stay/away (5-- interior stay/away would work also)
3-6 instant.

Assuming no programing errors, the only thing remaining is that you have the entry delay set to too short of a time.

Are you sure that your entry door is actually on zone 1?

Question

Hi, sorry I can't be updating this thread more often. I'm sure my entre door is on zone 1 (#1 led on kepad lights on when my door open).

Are the quickly beeps normal when entering zone definitions? If they are, how can I change the entry delay time (I've read the installation manual but I didn't find how to change it).

Thank you

Yes, when you are entering data, it beeps once for the first segment, and twice when it jumps to another data location.

The system delay times are programmed in section 005.

Hi MrRonFL, thank you again.

In Section 6: Programming Worksheets, Basic Programming for Section [005]:
[005] System Times
Default Valid entries: [001-255]
030 __ __ __ Entry Delay 1 (in seconds)(Section 5.18 “Entry/Exit Delay Options” )
045 __ __ __ Entry Delay 2 (in seconds)(Section 5.18 “Entry/Exit Delay Options” )
120 __ __ __ Exit Delay (in seconds)(Section 5.18 “Entry/Exit Delay Options” )
004 __ __ __ Bell Cut-off (in minutes)(Section 5.13 “Bell” )
I'm confused about how to program this section (005), I think I should press these keys at the keypad:
For entering programming mode for section 005:
*8 5555 005
For programming system times:
030 030 030 030

Is this sequence correct? *8 5555 005 030 030 030 030

In Section 5.18: Entry/Exit Delay Options is the following table:
Entry Delay 1 and 2 (System Times) . . . . . . . . .Section [005]
Exit Delay (System Times) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Section [005]
Audible Exit Delay with Urgency . . . . . . . . . . . .Section [014]: [6]
Audible Exit Fault Enabled/ Disabled . . . . . . . . . Section [013]: [6]
Bell Squawk Options . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Section [014]: [2] - [4]
Exit Delay Termination . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Section [014]: [7]
How do you program "Exit Delay Termination, Section [014]: [7]" to set it to ON?
Is this sequence correct? *8 5555 014 7 1

I'll wait your response before trying these sequences, I don't want to misconfigure my alarm. Have a nice day
