Default installer code doesn't work

Hi Guys,

After a powerfailure at my house my alarm start going nuts.
It went off without being armed.
I have a FBII XL4 system.
The installer had to reset the system to it's default but when he tried to go into programming mode the system refuses the default installer code 123456.
My default usercode works 1234
He adviced me to buy another system ?
Any advice ?

It sounds like the original installation set the installer lockout feature. From the installer manual:

"If the INSTALLER LOCKOUT option has been selected within the programming sequence then a default reset through these pins will perform a default with the exception of the CSID and Installer Code."

Basically, as best I can tell, short of a lucky guess, there's no way around this feature. If no one has record of the installer code used at system setup, then you are basically stuck.

Was the installer that came out the same company that originally installed that panel? If so, they should have the code. If they don't, they should replace the panel, and just charge for reprogramming, since you had an initial problem that brought them out.

Otherwise I think I would find a diffferent company.

If they're not the original company for whatever reason, then you'll probably have to replace the main board as Ron said above.
