GE Concord Express - Ground Fault

I have a concord express, panel is alarming on LCD screen ground Fault. No mention of this alarm in user or install manual. what does ground mean on an alarm system

Assuming no recent lightning strikes that could have damaged the main control, it means that somewhere in your zone, sounder or keypad wiring, there is a wire either making contact with earth ground, or partially shorted wire to wire.

The way you find it, is to remove one pair of wires at a time from the system terminals until the ground fault goes away, then you check that segment of wiring.

Ground faults are a major pain to trace, because you are looking for things like skinned wire, junction boxes with water in them, wire pinched by metal window framing, etc.
