Ademco 6150RF or 6160RF

Hello Everyone,

I would like to install a Vista 10P or Vista 20P in my home using both wired and wireless zones. I will only use one keypad in my home.

Question #1?
Can I buy the Ademco 6150RF keypad, and Program my home system from this keypad? Or do I also have to buy the 6160 keypad in order to program the 6150RF?

Question#2?
If I can't use the 6150RF for programming, can the 6160RF keypad be used for programming so that I don't also have to buy the 6160 keypad to program it? What is the most economical approach to my programming matter. Thanks for all advice.

Yes, you can program from the 6160RF, So just get that. It's probably only a few bucks more to get the vista 20 with the 6160RF than the 15 with the 6160RF. Generally, once you go to the 6160, it makes sense to go with the 20 than the 15, and you get alot more capability.

Unless you can understand and read binary, it's very difficult to program any panel with out a text keypad. But if you know binary, it's a snap.

Thanks Integrator for your quick response. I will buy the 6160Rf along with the 20P panel. Take care.
