Enrolling Wireless Device On A Dsc Key Pad

hELLO,

Here's my situation. I recently had a security system installed. The home was pre-wired for a system. The small local company was able to connect and program all contracts with the exception of the inside door leading into the garage. Some how the wire might have been damaged during construction. I was told to order a wireless door contract and just enroll this wireless device(EV-DW4917)into the system. the manual is not too forgiving and I need some help from a newbie prespecitve. The local company want to charge a maintenance to do the work. Here is my system PC1616 &RF5501/433 KEY PAD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
richard

you will need the installer code. *8, installer code, 804, for wireless enrollment, enter the zone number, 01, 02..whichever. enter the six digit esn number on the device. go to your attibutes, for zones, such as 101 or 102, depending on which zone this is for, and make sure number 8 is on. hope this is helpful.

I have the installer code and understand the first part of your suggestion, however not sure how to go into the attributes for the zones. How do I access the attributes?

Go to program

Go to section 1xx (xx being the 2 digit zone number)

Press the 8 key to turn on the wireless attribute

Press # until you exit programming

yes, for example, if you use zone 9 for your wireless zone, then you will *8, installer code, 109, press number 8, then exit out, ##.

Thanks for all the help...just got back from vacation and now I have the time to program the wireless device. Here are some additional questions;

I have enroll the wireless device according to the procedures provide. The three areas in zone 01 where I have enroll the wireless device to include the wireless device have lossed the chime features when opening and closing. Is this normal or is there something I have done wrong? All other zones chime feature are working fine.

The three areas???

Each wireless device is a individual zone by definition, you cannot have more than one on the same zone number, and you cannot enroll a wireless device on the same zone as a hardwired zone.

You learn it into any zone that's not being used. If you are using zone 1-6 for hardwired devices, you enroll the wireless unit into any zone from 7 to 32.
