Honeywell/Ademco 6160rf cheaper equivalent?
I have a Safewatch Pro 2000/Vista 20se with a single 6137b keypad.
I am looking to:
1) add a seond keypad in the master bedroom
2) add the ability to use wireless sensors
3) access advanced programming with alpha
Is the 6160rf the only option I have? They seem quite expensive. (Nearing or over $200)
eBay doesn't show any that I have found.
I would possibly give up the wireless capability if I could save some serious $. I don't like running wires, but for the cost savings might have to.
If I lose the wireless option, what keypad models are recommended?
Also - what is the difference between the 6150rf and 6160rf?
Thanks in advance. This site is great !
A lot to learn though !!!
thx

If you want full programming access, your only real choice is the full alphanumeric keypad (6160 or 6160RF). The older 6139 models will work as well if you can find them.
The 6150(rf) is not a programming keypad.
The 6160RF sounds pricey, but keep in mind that it is the equivalent of the largest capacity bidirectional wireless transiever as well as an alphanumeric keypad.

Sure, either option will work just fine. The reason this stuff confuses people so much is the fact that there are multiple solutions for many configurations. Alarm systems are custom installations, by definition.
