Any of the major brands will work just fine. The question you have to ask is what _features_ you want.

Would like to hard wire the home. Home includes 26 windows, 3 exterior doors, 3 motions sensors, wired in with smoke / fire alarms, with options to call my cell phone.
Not sure if it can page my phone or e-mail, this way I can view home thru security sytem, via internet.

Those are all basic functions of most security systems. Do you want the system to include any home automation? What style of keypads are you looking for?

Take a look at companies like:

http://www.dsc.com
http://www.napco.com
http://www.gesecurity.com
http://www.homeauto.com

Depending on the style of devices and the exact functionality you are looking for, they all have similar products.

well if I was building.... which I would love to do... I would only go with 1 unit... and it may not be cheap up front but let me tell you what... a nice setup it is...

go to cocoontech.com and go into the forums.. many of the guys there are using it..

in addition to controlling your alarm, smokes and all that stuff.. you can also control lighting, lamp, appliance modules, etc...

also for web you can check this out.. which is what im using..

www.homeseer.com

you can see some of what I have done here.. it is a bit outdated and I need to update it....
