Vista20se window sensor troubleshooting

Notice this morning I had a sensored window open but I was able to Alarm stay last night. Put in chime mode and check all windows and found another one that didn't chime or send fault while open. System is about 4 years old and I typical do an annual check on windows/doors. What are the typical reason for
a faulty sensor and why would it not fault?

Assuming that these are hardwired contacts, try giving the stuck ones a sharp whack or two with a screwdriver handle. 9 times out of 10 this unsticks them, for now.

The teeny strip of springy metal in these can and will sort of solder themselves together when they stay in the same position for long periods of time (it's one reason the instruction manual tells you to test monthly).

Breaking them loose like this only buys borrowed time. They _will_ fail again. Replace the contact switch at the first opportunity.
