I have a First Alert Professional Security System FA110C. When I enter my master code or installer codes, it does nothing. The system says its ready and beeps when I push the buttons but does nothing. It's like it does not recognize the codes. I powered down the system and powered it back up pressing the *# together and again nothing. The system just will not arm. I installed another keypad and again I'm having the same problem. I tested the power in the control panel and everything seems to be working there. There are no error codes on the keypad. Everything looks ready and good. I really hope that someone can help me out with this.

I bought new DSC system 1832 with 2 keypads PK5501 to replace old Radio Shack system . I figured I could just connect my wired window and door detectors to the new system. Doing fine until I get to the keypads. My old 4 wire connections are labeled [ + , Data 1 , Data 2 , - ] and the new connections are labeled Red , Black , yellow, and Green. I am guessing the red and black are the same as + and - but how do I tell where to put the Data 1 and Data 2 wires ? Am I facing other problems like this in the switchover ? jay8ch
