I have a question about adding a new keyboard to an existing 10 year old Ademco system. I have searched and read, but haven’t quite been able to put the pieces together. The alarm system I have was installed by Ameritech prior to their being bought out by ADT (it is also currently monitored by ADT). The alarm panel is a Vista 20AMTE, which seems to be a standard Vista 20 panel with a few custom program options/presets (or so the manual addendums seem to indicate). At present I have one wired keypad model 6139, along with wireless module and a 5827BD wireless keypad. I have an additional 6160 keypad that I would like to add to the system. The 6139 keypad is currently set to non-addressable mode, address 31. After reading many posts, it seems that I have to change the address of the 6160 keypad to something between 17 and 30. I believe I also have to set the original 6139 keypad to address 16. However, in the installation manual (left by the installer by request at install - be nice to these guys - it pays!), it states that addressable keypads must be set to non-addressable mode, address 31. Does anyone know which is correct? Does anything else have to be altered in the panel programming to allow the use of two keypads, and if so, what and in what order? And finally, does the system have to be fully powered down with the battery removed to add the keypad, or can it be hot plugged? Thanks in advance.

I guess I'm a little thick-- because some how I've missed what is probably a simple thing that's right in front of me and I can't see it... I've setup my Concord 4 alarm system with a bunch of wireless sensors. Everything works fine... However, I'm not understanding how to assign some sensors as zones that only get armed when the alarm is put into "Away" mode and not armed in "Stay" mode. An example would be a motion detector that I'd prefer to only be used when the house is armed "away." Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me...
