DSC PC1550 Board Replacement

The siren on my DSC PC1550 was set off during a lighting strike and will not turn off. I ended up pulling the power. I read on a post somewhere that if this happens that the board is ruined. The question that I have is I have found another board and was wondering if after I hook it up the system will it have our old code or will it be the code of whatever was set up on the board that I replaced it with?

Or is there a lot more to it than simply changing over the wires to the new board?

Thanks

There is a lot more to it.

All of the zone settings and codes are contained in the eeprom on the mother board.

You will have to clear the new board of any previous programming with either the hardware or software default, then program in the correct settings for your configuration.

For a PC 1550 this really isn't that tough, there are only 30--35 programming locations, and you will normally only need to change about 6-8.
