Vista 15P Wireless Expansion

I have a Vista 15p - 6150rf and 6160v keypads with 16 programmed wireless zones. I attempted to add additional zones and I receive an error E8 on the keypad which denotes the wireless receiver (6150rf) is at it's capacity. How is the best way to expand the system to the allowed 26 wireless zone capacity?

I have the same setup and as I recall using all of the zones is tricky. If you get a Ademco 5881 ENL you get 8 more zones. If you get a Ademco 5881 ENM you get the 10 zones and the other 6 are not accessable but the device will work fine.

The 6150rf keypad continues to control 16 wireless zones and adding the 5881enm 16 zone expander will give me access to the remaining 10 wireless zones?

Did some digging and it looks like you we can not add a 5881 unless we set our 6150RF to local mode.

It looks like the 6150RF is a keypad with a 5881ENM or 16 zone RF receiver. The 6160RF is a keypad with a 5881ENH.

It looks we would have to dump the keypad and get a 6160RF or set that keypad to local and only use it for keyfob's and get a 5881ENH.

I will probably dump my 6150RF and just get a 5881ENH. Then replace the 6150RF at some point with an alpha keypad.

If anyone else has a better idea let me know I don't like throwing away stuff if possible.

If this is the case is the practical choice to purchase the more expensive 5883H which has 64 expanded zone capability and just use the 6150Rf keypad as a keypad only?

The _best_ choice and easiest, is to get the 6160RF keypad, but if the cost difference between that and the "H" receiver board is a budget buster, get the receiver, and turn off the keypad receiver functions until you can get a chance to sell or trade it for a 6160 keypad.

Given the number of people looking to add wireless to their systems, you have a good chance of reselling the keypad to another DIY.
