hello new guy DSC pc1550

hi i can,t find 1 amp, and 5 amp, little glass fuses for my alarm .HELP

Check Radio Shack? They generally have an assortment of small fuses.

These _are_ a pain to find. Most RS outlets no longer stock them. They are a 5 X 15mm fuse.

The trick is finding a vendor that stocks them.

I have been known to solder wires onto the terminals of a fuse holder for fuses that are easier to find. Then I'd use the old blown odd-size fuse to clamp the other ends of the wires into the circuit board. Works fine as long as you match the amp rating.

Inelegant, but it solved the nuisance of finding and stocking all the different oddball fuses. I used to carry a couple of fuse holders with me for the purpose--saved me a return trip more than once, and the inside of a control panel cabinet doesn't have to look pretty.
