Ademo 5894PIR Wireless Motion Detectors Battery Life

I like seeing the Red LEDs light up when the Motion Detector is activated as in the walk test.

I have them turned off now as per the instructions to save battery life.

If I leave the LEDs turned on, what length of battery life can I expect in these Motion detectors ?

Thanks

Chuck

Not sure. I know that the instructions are pretty specific about disabling the LED. The normal battery life is 3-5 years.

Ok,

Actually on the outside of the 5894PIR box it states the battery life is 10 years (there's 3 cells in parallel), so I was hoping for a couple years battery life with the LED on.

I think I'll give it a try on one motion detector, since the panel is notified of low voltage batteries

Thanks

Chuck

One rule about wireless devices: Whatever the listed battery life is, assume that the real world battery life is 1/2 to 2/3 of the manufacturers claim.

It has as much to do with variations in the battery quality than anything else.
