monitronics alarm beeps

Hello! We are the first owners of the monitronics alarm system. They system is about to turn one year on Nov 20. It is a new contruction home so we had them activate the alamr but did not accept monitoring from them or anyone else. We have the security code but we dont know how to change it because we did not receive a user guide. Additionally, the green ready light seemed to have stopped working...The alarm system now chimes randomly and frequently at odd hours of the morning! Since the house is less than a year old is monitronics responsible for fixing this problem? Is there a way for us to fix the uncontrollable chimes? How do you change the alarm code? Where can we find the user manual. I have no idea what type of system it is because nothing is written anywhere on the alarm. You help is greatly appreciated.

I'd start by reading the builder warranty. If the alarm is part of your home warranty (and it should be if it was part of the build), then it's the builder's job to get it corrected.

Basically, you have some erratic zones. Either the door/window contacts have become misaligned, or possibly you have magnets that have come loose (not uncommon). The remote possibility is bad wiring.

Typically, Monitronic uses variations of Honeywell/Ademco Vista panels. Open the door to the control box and see what model you have. The odds are that it's a clone of a Vista 15/20p.
