Post DSC PK5500 Home Security System

Hello, there! I have a hard-wired DSC PK5500 Home Security System which is approximately 4 years old. Within the past few months, sporadically when I get up off the couch the alarm will sound when the system is UNARMED. I am absolutely sure that the system is UNARMED and it does not do this every time. Once when I was passing the key pad, I heard a strange, low humming sound and the alarm sounded but again, the system was UNARMED. Zone indicates that it is the motion detector, but I have been in the bedroom and it went off on one occasion. Again, I am 100% sure that the system is UNARMED. What in the world would cause this? Thank you so much for any advice you can give me to this very strange problem. BFS

PK5500 is the keypad model. You most likely have a PC1616/1832/1864 for the actual alarm model.

This is kinda hard to diagnose with second hand info. When this goes into alarm, is there an alarm memory? If not, then you may have an alarm control board that is starting to fail...
