How to disable the beep alarm from Brinks Security System

I just bought a house which had Brinks Security system installed earlier. I do not have them activated, and the panels are still there. I don't mind the beep sound when the doors are closed/opened, but at around 4am there is a beep sound like alarm from the three panels, and keep beeping constantly. When I hit the cancel button, it stopped but the next morning it happened again and for three wks now since I moved in. My guess was the alarm the precious owner had set.

Can anyone tell me how to disable that beep so I can sleep well for two more hours....

Thanks so much.

In short, you can't.

You cannot acess programming on Brinks hardware because they are proprietary.
It's beeping because it cannot make its scheduled communication test.

Unless you are willing to work with Brinks/Broadcom, all you can do is replace the control and keypad(s).

Solution

I had the same problem when I bought my new home. Today I called Brinks company and they told me few steps to follow and it was disabled. Basically what you have to do is. Go to your basement , and there will be a big box for Brinks. Open that box with a screw driver. 1) Unplug the plug going into electric outlet 2) Unplug black wire of the battery 3) Unplug the telephone cable. Now your security box will be completely disabled. Hope it helps.

Thanks

Yes, you can disable the system, but no, you cannot reprogram it for local use without Brinks' cooperation...

Thumbs up Solution Works!

Thanks to rjindal. I followed the steps and our alarm is now disabled! A very simple process.

We had been living with the daily beeping for over a year and are grateful for this solution.

Yes, powering down the hardware is always an available option.
