They told me my hard wired alarm chirps because you need a battery of 4 years from this year or 2015 for it to work. I cannot find a battery that recent anywhere.
Is this true?

Before I comment, explain that a bit more. Are they specifying the mfg date and "use-by" date found on most batteries???

You just need a fully charged battery. There's no electronics that reads the battery "age" it just senses the presence of a battery with 9VDC (+/- 10%)
