Have the Honeywell 5828V as a second keypad with my Lynx touch system and when the power goes out the 5828V dies within a few minutes. How long should the 5828V run off the AA batteries when the AC is out? Maybe my batteries are dead.

After installing a 4286 VIP in a 1 year old self-installed Vista 20P and programming field *28 access code: When I call and enter the access code, I can hear the 4286 VIP unit physically click, but I don't receive the voice statements on the phone. The Vista 20P clearly identifies it when unplugged, and when entering the wrong code you don't hear the physical engagement. When calling from an external line it gives "fax tones", but no prompts even after sending the access code. It gives a quick disconnect (3 seconds) after entering code internally or externally. Can anyone advise on troubleshooting?
