Adding DSC 5132 Wireless
OK. I just bought a DSC RF5132 Wireless Receiver and two sensors for two windows. I have a DSC Power 8332 series system with 8 zones (a PC5010 Control Panel and a PC5508 LED Keypad.
All of the current sensors are hard wired…some of the zones have multiple hardwired sensors. I am replacing the two hardwired sensors on Zone 3 with two wireless sensors. I have removed the wiring at the control panel for zone 3 so that the old sensors are no longer a part of the system.
I’ve read all my manuals (the Installation Manual for the 5132 wireless receiver, the Installation Manual fort eh PC5010, and the Programming Manual for the PC5010. And I have done a search on this forum to see if my question has already been asked and answered.
My problem is that I can’t enroll both wireless sensors to Zone 3. I know the wireless receiver has 32 zones, but I can’t figure out how to get the Control Panel to recognize that I now have additional zones beyond 8. I have been able to enroll just one of the sensors and set the definitions and attributes correctly so that the system trips when I open that sensor.
How do I take advantage of the additional zone capability of the wireless receiver so that I can put wireless sensors on both of the windows that were previously wired to the same zone? I did enroll both sensors; the second to Zone 9 (the 1st sensor is enolled to Zone 3...the Zone which had the hardwired sensors that I removed), and I set the attributs and defintions for Zone, but even wiht that sensor open the system will arm.
Thanks all…..

With nearly _all_ wireless: 1 transmitter = 1 Zone.
You _can't_ put them both on the same zone...
It's in the manual for the wireless receiver, but it's one sentence buried in a paragraph.
For the zone count, the _system_ supports 32 zones. In your case your available wireless zones are any unused zones below 8 (once you change the wireless attribute, the hardwire input is ignored) and any of the other zones from 9 to 32.
To use the upper zones you just have to put a zone definition in the appropriate slot in location 002 (for zones 9-16), then in location 203 you turn on the zone(s) for partition 1 (again from 9-16)
Again, all of this is in the manual for the wireless receiver, but tends to be easy to overlook...

Ron: You are a Gentleman and a Scholar! That did it.......the part I was srewing up was failing to assign a "null" defintion to the other 7 zones. One of your earlier responses to someone else helped me figure that out.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the system to talk to the monitoring service. Ths all started when I went through the reset routine on the control panel to restore the Installer's Code to the default so I could add the wirless sensors, so when it reset, it of course wiped out the Program Outputs to turn on the siren, and wiped out the phone number and ID data to the monitoring service.......I may get back to you....but in the meantime, thanks much and have a Happy New Year.

OK Ron: Here's where I'm at:
All zones are defined (and with default attributes). I can do tests on individual zones in both stay and away mode and everything is working.....I even got the siren working (squirrels had chewed through the wire). My next and final step is to get it talking to the monitoring service again (ADT). I have programmed the number to call (which I got from ADT) at programming section 301. I'm ready to set the reporting codes, but am unsure what the Partition Identifier Code at 310 and 312 is. In the installation guide (paragraph 5.5, it's called an "account number"). Is this an arbitrary number I select so the service will know which partition has had an event?
I only had to assign another partition as my panel only had 8 zones until I added the wireless receiver. When I did that I had to assign a partition so I could access Zone 9 for the new sensor. So from my perspective, when an alarm is triggered and a call placed to the service, I only need to know which Zone triggered the alarm.....I really don't care about reporting partitions.
Thanks......

Hookay, you actually still have a way to go. The account number is the last 4 digits of your ADT account number. Only put it in location 310. 311 is for the second partition, which you are not using.
_Every_ thing you want to have trigger the dialer to report to ADT will need a report code programmed. It's a little easier since it's Contact ID, but you will need to look at appendix A at the back of the installer manual to figure out what code needs to be plugged in for each zone, panic or trouble you want to report.
Don't forget to change the format in section 360 to contact ID because it's what ADT is expecting.
You aren't creating another partition, you are adding zones to your existing partition (partitioning is a "virtual machine" type setup that lets one alarm control act as if it were 2 or more)

OK, thanks. I think I understand. Here’s what I think is next as I understand your reply:
1. Set my account number at 310
2. Change format in 360 to [03] (DTMF CONTACT I.D.)
3. Set report codes for each zone (I have 9 zones: 7 hardwire zones and 2 wireless)
a. To set report code for Zone 1(which is the front door and has a Zone Definition of [01] (Delay 1)
i. *8 [installer’s code] [320] [34] (report code 34 is for a “burglar Alarm/ Entry/Exit”).
ii. Following the report code 34, I would enter the two digit report code for the other 7 zones, then repeat 3.a.i above using [321] for Zone 9 (zones 10 - 16 would be NULL)
