Adding a zone to my Ademco SE-10 Vista with a 6128 (numeric) keypad

Well, here goes... I would like to add a new hardwired zone to my current system. Since I have 1 h/w zone already (01) this would be numbered 02. Here is the sequence of keystrokes entered and the results I got.

xxxx 8 0 (installer code

*56 (programming mode

1* (confirm yes

[At this point my screen showed a 20... so I think things went astray]

02* (zone 02

* (accept summary

01 ** (zone type 01, use default )

11* (default report

* (input device type - should default to HW so no entry required for serial number and loop number)

* (confirmation option

* (summary display

0* (no alpha descriptors

00 (quit)

Needless to say, it didnt work so I powered off and got the system back to ready mode at least

Thanks

Paul

To program zone 2 as delay press (IC)(80). The display should read 20. Press (*)(56)(*). The display should read 01 for zone 1. Press (02)(*)(*) then (01). This will make zone 2 a delay zone. Then keep pressing (*) a few times until the display reads 03 for zone 3. Press (00)(*) to exit the zone menu then (*)(99) to exit programming. In the future you should get a 6160 keypad. It will make programming much easier.
