Ademco vista 20p installation

So I installed my system in the house with two 6150 panels. Now i need to set this thing up. i have the master and installer codes. can someone point me in the right direction to getting this thing up and running? i would appreciate the help.

You have the wrong keypads to program your zone configurations (says so, right in the manual). You need to have a 6160 keypad or the equivalent to set this thing up.

You only need one, and it doesn't have to stay in the system, so it can be a used, beat up keypad or even a borrowed one.

i also have the 7845gsm. is there any way to program everything with this and a computer? or is adding a 6160 my only option?

You would need the Compass software and an appropriate modem and/or interface module. The software is really designed for people who install multiple simular syatems, and it can be finicky to get running.


Trust me, for a DIY, a keypad is cheaper and easier.

That would work just fine. Any 2-line alpha keypad (6160, 6160V, 6160RF, or the older 6139 keypads) will work.

we could remotely program your system using the GSM cheaper then buying a 6160 keypad.
