Help with DSC Alarm - LCD5500Z

Our alarm system periodically sounds a pulsed beeping....you can shut it off, but it will start again... sometimes going on for a few minutes...then its stops for no reason. It happened a week ago, two days ago, and again today. (You can't set the alarm when the trouble light is on.)

It shows "trouble" with number 1, which is the front door. We've check this door thoroughly, and there's nothing wrong with it!

Anyone know why this is happening?

What _system_ model is this keypad attached to?

Fortunately, all of the systems that use this keypad use a common trouble display.
What is displayed when you press *2 to get the trouble display.
Use the trouble display table in this manual: http://www.mainelectronics.com/pdf/PC1555Install.pdf

Look in the section on keypad commands.

Yes, on the trouble display it indicates "1", which is our front door.

Gotcha! Now I read that the trouble indicated is "Battery".... yet it happens inconsistently... how could this be? Do you think replacing the large battery for the system would cure this problem?

Yes. It is normal for the battery to go bad. They normally have a life of 3-5 years. I would get it replaced unless you feel it is less than 3 years old.
