Need Installer PIN code for Morse MDC-16C Home Alarm System (installed by RIMI)

Hello,

I bought a home which has this alarm system that works perfectly well, but is not monitored. I need its Installer PIN code, which is required to get this connected to a Alarm Monitoring Service.

Can someone please help ?

Thanks in advance for your attention and help.

I seem to recall that these are tough to get into without that installer code.

Does this manual match up: http://www.americansafeinc.com/PDF%2...llOpsManA4.pdf

or: http://www.alarmhow.net/manuals/Opte...n%20Manual.pdf

Thanks a lot for your help.

The manual , you referred to, indeed match up with the model of my alarm system. But it doesn't provide the Installer PIN - which is a 4 digit code and has been changed to something else from the default value of 9999 - I guess by RIMI (the company who installed it and who are out of business now).

I will sincerely appreciate if someone can help get this PIN.

Thanks again.

There's the problem. My previous encounters with these systems came to the conclusion that the installation setup pretty much forces the OEM installer to put their unique code in, so there's no standard for it.

All of my experience says to remove the Morse system and start over if you don't have the original installer to reference.

Default Instructions for MDC-16

I found out from the factory, just before they went out of business, that the way to default the panel is dial 0000 then the "program" button then 5951 and "Program" button again and follow the on screen instructions to default the panel. Hope this helps.

I tried the 0000/Program and 5951/program and the keypad responds with 'reinitialize?'... Just being safe but will this just reset the company installer PIN or is this a system reset that would set all programming to defaults?

Thanks!

That's going to be a default to factory specs; so you would be starting over from scratch.

5951 Factoy Code

I have the same issue as everyone else and can't get into my MDC-16 alarm system and want to reset the installer code so I can get into the system. I entered 0000, PROGRAM, 5951, PROGRAM and "INITIALIZE" came up. I hit the enter, and it went to "sleep" for a few minutes but did not initialize the system. I then tried the 9999 factory default installer code & it would not work, so I assume the old installer code was not changed back to the factory 9999 installer code. So I still can't get into the MDC-16 system. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

These were very "locked down" systems and could have the local programming access disabled, as well. Unless you enjoy the challenge; replacement with a current production, more DIY friendly system will get you more bang for the buck.
