Hi DiY forum,
I have read many threads on programming the DSC Power832 / PC5010 system but still cant get my head around the programming. Any help would be much appreciated. I successfully reset the whole system by doing a power down and up to get new access codes so have gotten pretty far but am hung up on the programming. Here is what I have:
Single Power 832 Keypad
Installer code [5015]
Zone 1 - Front door open/close sensor (attributed toggles 1/2/3/4)
Zone 2 - Hallway motion sensor (attributed toggles 1/2/3/4)
Zone 3 - Lounge motion senor (attributed toggles 1/2/3/4)
Zone 4 - Set up but no senor attached
Zone 5 - Set up but no senor attached
Zone 6 - Set up but no senor attached
Zone 7 - Set up but no senor attached
Zone 8 - Central control unit lid tamper switch (attributed toggles 1/2/3/4)
I would like to programme my system to:
a) Remove all unused Zones 4,5,6,7 (so that I dont have to bypass them everytime)
b) Set up the door entry/exit senor with a 45 second delay upon exit and 30 second upon entry to allow time to deactivate the alarm
c) Set up all other Zones 2,3,8 to be instant
Many thanks

*8 [installer code]
001
xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx (xx being the 2 digit zone type for zones 1-8, in order)
The delay times are set in programming location 005.
Leave the attributes alone. The only time you mess with those is for turning on wireless devices, and trying to do very specific zone modifications.
Do you have the installer manual?

Hi MrRonFL
Many thanks for the quick reply. I have found an Installer Manual on the web.
So, would the following programme work:
*8 [5015] 001 01 04 04 00 00 00 00 03 ##
This should define the attributes for Zones 1 - 8 which I described in my previous thread.
If I wanted the alarm to set upon exit of the house to 30 seconds and to allow 30 seconds to disarm the system 30 seconds after entry to the house the programme should be:
*8 [5015] 005 030 030 030 ##
Does this look correct?
Also, should the Zone attribute toggles 1 - 8 should all be "-" or should some be toggled?
Thanks

When you select the zone type for a zone, the correct attributes for that zone type are automatically selected.
The only time you alter the individual attribute settings is to turn on option 8 for wireless zones, or to do something unusual like making a perimeter zone that doesn't chime, or making a zone "force arm".
Otherwise, yes it looks like you have gotten the grasp of the programming interface.
