Wired Alarm System - Which one?

Hello,

I read a lot about wired vs wireless alarm system and I decided to go with the wired system.
The only thing I need to know which one I should chose, despide they are hard to find.

Anyone who has one can recommend one?

Thank you

Look at the manufactures sites. The major brands that work well with DIY installs are all basically equivalent. There are differences in minor features, and accessories available. Look at the specs and pick the one that has the features you want, or that can be added.

Honeywell: Products - Honeywell Intrusion and Communications
DSC: DSC
GE/UTC: Intrusion Solutions | Interlogix Global Security Products

There are other brands, but they are more difficult for novice to install, typically.

While current models of wireless alarms are fairly good they still have a greater incidence of failure than do wired alarms. In addition, a wireless alarm needs to have the batteries in the sensors changed on a regular basis.

Alarm system components are not hard to find. I suspect I could come up with a dozen different distributors with a ten-minute Google search. Use alarm system components for the search term. Lots of equipment (mostly new) is also available on Ebay, usually with a significant discount.

I still think the wireless one will be more convenient.

Of course wireless is more convenient; that does not necessarily make it better.

MAD King, if you search for alarm systems you will have a much more limited choice than if you search for alarm system components.
