DSC pc1616 STAY arming exit delay not adjustable? 90s no matter what?

Hold STAY button until it goes into arming mode. PK5500 alpha pad says "exit delay" is in place.

I have [005] [01] data set at
030 030 030

Dly1 Dly2 ExitDelay

so, long after 30s per my stopwatch, the system is STILL in "exit delay" mode.
I get about 90s of Exit Delay... while entering STAY mode

I tried changing the 3rd data set in [005] [01] to 005 but no change was observed in the Exit Delay for a STAY arming term.

I'm not quite following you.... it may be too late for me.

I know some alarm systems need to see one of the delayed doors opened during the cycle.

It sounds like you are making the correct entries.

030 030 030 # should set all of the delays to 30sec.

if you open & close a door while in the exit delay status, it will think you have exited & then any zones programmed as interior will be active.

try the *9 xxxx arming and see what it says -

xxxx = your code

in your case its letting you know that the system is armed- ( red lock on ) and that delay is set for entry.

doing the star 9 & code will show armed with NO entry delay

nothings wrong.... its working
