Check Fire Message - ADT Safewatch Pro 3000

Hi,

Since we were getting a lot of false alarms from the smoke detector - we disconnected it - as we thought it could be due to the dust.

Later after a few months - and after trying to clean it to remove any dust- I connected it back - but now the Check Fire Message does not get cleared.

We have a ADT Safewatch Pro 3000.

Any suggestions on how to fix this.

Thanks,
SR

Did you put the 2000 ohm end of line resistor back on the detector's terminals?
Did you enter your user code + 1 (off) to clear the trouble?

I did try entering my user code + 1 (off) - that did not work.

Does the FAQ describe how to do the first suggestion -
as I am not familiar with this.
Thanks,
SR

To a certain extent, it's dictated by the smoke detector model.

If this is the only detector on the system, put the 2000 ohm resistor on the same pair of wires that connect the detector back to the alarm system. It just goes from terminal to terminal with the zone wires.

(this is assuming that this is a 2-wire smoke connected to zone 1).
