House Alarm: Radionics Omegalarm D6112

Our system was installed in the early 90's. It has worked well over the years. This past week the system has started intermittently to make a repeated buzzing alert and then the alarms are triggered. Cannot shut off alarm via pad. Needed to unplug the unit from the wall. The battery was replaced in 2003. Could this be what's causing the problem?

Possibly. Radionic panels are tough as nails, but when they start failing, they do so in some very odd and somewhat random ways, so this may be entropy catching up to your hardware.

I've installed many D6112 systems. They are pretty much bullet proof. However the keypads go intermittent with age. The buttons wear out.

If you are monitored by a central station they should be able to tell you what the fault is. It could be battery or communications failure.

Try doing a command 40, note which lights come on. hit enter, and repeat. Tell me which lights come on may tell us what's wrong.
