Safewatch Pro 2000 upgrade GSM to 3G or 4G

Just purchased house with Safewatch Pro 2000 monitored by ADT from previous owner. No landline plan so would like to get GSM communicator for the alarm. Since 2G is phasing out in 2017, what equipment is available in 3G or 4G? Would like to find best price and performance for equipment. Or would total replacement of board and panel but keep sensors a better option? Thanks for your help.

Thanks Ron,

Would using this product Cobra's PhoneLynx BT 215 Bluetooth adapter with a purchase of a cheapo cellphone w/plan using existing panel work for what i am trying to do? The adapter has a phone line output, and I cut that line and wired it up to the phone input of the alarm control panel. So when the system needs to call, it goes through the adapter and out via cell phone.

The answer would be a qualified "maybe". My gut says that it probably won't work from looking at the specs of the device. A voice call is less demanding than a data call. If that little adaptor would allow you to send a fax, then it will probably work.
