DSC 1616 - silent alert zone?
====================
The system:
DCS 1616 Model, v.4.60
Keypad #1 RFK5501-433 v 1.20
Keypad #2 = PK5500 Alphanemeric
Wireless Motion Detector WS4904P
Wireless Smoke & Fire Detectors - (2) WS4916's
====================
I see "silent" or [no bell] is an option as you define a zone...
Hmmmm...
Wondering if I can set up a new zone that does nothing but watch for activity and then not trip an alarm or sound the bell, but just chime at me inside the house? Preferably a zone which is always on, not just if the alarm is set.
Anyone done this before?
I am thinking like a driveway alert- just bong at me if you detect activity. Let me decide if there's anything to be excited about. Say, maybe it's time for the pit bull to go out and go potty!

Try this one:
[26] 24-Hour Non-Alarm: Zone will NOT create an alarm. Can be used with zone follower function for automation applications
If you want it to chime, you can turn on the chime attribute for that zone type in 1xx zone attribute programming (one of the few instances where you need to mess with the zone attribute settings)
