ADT Focus32

My Adt Focus 32 5010/5015 is no longer monitored, I moved into the house and do not subscribe.

I still use the alarm in a non monitored state, and like the door chime feature.

I changed my home phone to a cable service, where the installer apparently hooked up the alarm panel. However about a week after he left, I got a trouble light, the code indicates "failure to communicate" . That was fine, no bother to me, however now the panel has starting beeping sporadically. I would like to keep the chime option on. Can someone help me please. Thanks

The ADT "Focus 32" is a DSC PC 5010 with an ADT logo on it, and a different default installer code: Installer manuals (you need both books): https://www.bassunited.com/downloads...DSC-PC5010.pdf
http://www.myalarm.com/manuals_prog/832p.pdf
DSC: Power series panels (632, 832, 864); trouble 3 (telephone line trouble) and/or trouble 4 (failure to communicate) shows on new/defaulted system.

DSC panels default to the communicator turned on, and TLM (telephone line monitoring) turned on. If you will not be using the communicator functions, you have to turn them off by entering programming, turning off option 7 in section 015, and option 1 in section 380.

To get rid of the trouble, you will need the ADT installer code (websearch using the phrase "ADT installer code", because we aren't supposed to post it in this forum...)

From any keypad enter the following:
*8 + [installer code] (the system should go in to programming mode as described in the installer manual)
380
Press 1 to turn off the dialer
Press # to save the change
015
Press 7 to turn off the phone line monitor
Press #
007
Enter your desired 4-digit master user code
press # until you are out of programming.

To clear the failure to communicate, you will have to power the system down and start it again (no, you will not lose any configuration settings, but you will need to set the clock/date).
