Lynx system with 5811 sensor
Hello,
I need help!!! we are trying to add a new sensor 5811 into our old Lynx system. We had added five sensors (5811) earlier and were successful. However, the last one is giving us a headache.
We created a new zone for this sensor just like the others. Everything was OK until we tried to trip the sensor to see if it works. Now, we have a fault on this zone and cannot clear it (we entered our master code twice +OFF). We also did a test by opening other doors/windows, the system showed faults on those tests and cleared when we closed those doors/windows. When we tried with this sensor, it continued to show fault when it is re-aligned (magnet and sensors are in lined with each other).
Appreciate any help from you all....

Lynx system with 5811 sensor
Thanks for your reply.
With that said, we did tried with loop 2 as well as loop 1 and nothing works. The other 5 sensor we set up all had loop 1 and they all worked the first time around.
Don't know what else to do....

You may have a bad sensor -- those are not the hardiest of sensors.
There is only one loop [#1] -- not much to them [ swap the battery with another sensor and see if problem follows it]?
edit: slowly move the magnet near to the reed switch and listen for the reaction, you should be able to hear a 'click' if it is activating.
