Fire alarm not activating dialer

Hello,

I have a DSC1616 with a Visonic dialer wired across the bell terminals and a jumper from Z1 to -. The dialer works fine with the burglar alarm but doesn't work with my smoke detector.

The smoke is wired
N.O. to Zone 3
Com to Zone com
- to PGM1
+ to AUX+
The fire alarm registers on the keypad and my test light at the smoke goes constant.
My programming is
*8 5555 001 01 05 08##
*8 5555 009 03 00##

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim

Do you have the Visonic dialer configured to activate with a pulsed/coded output? The simple fix is to set the DSC so that it's a steady voltage whether intrusion or fire, but then you don't get the pulsed siren to let you know the difference.

MrRonFL.

I am more concerned with the fire alarm not getting out to me. If I might ask how do I change the 1616 to emit a steady voltage?

Thanks,

Jim

Installer manual:
http://www.gargoylesecurity.com/Down...STALLATION.pdf

Here's the easy fix:
*8 5555 009 03 10##
*8 5555 510 turn OFF options 3 4 5 6 7
Connect your Visonic dialer to the PGM2 connection. That configuration will activate PGM 2 for any burg or fire alarm.
