DSC LCD5501Z Key Pad and unknown system

Greetings,

I have a system with the above keypads and a main panel that has a 'Concourse' logo on the front and a DSC PTD1640U transformer plugged into the duplex outlet in the cabinet. The system is hardwired, not wireless.

Like many on the posts I've read, my keypads started beeping regularly last night and the trouble light was illuminated. I pressed # to stop the beeping and then *2 to get a trouble condition '1'. Pressing 1 again yielded another '1'. I checked the smoke detector batteries and they seem OK and I've always gotten beeps at the detectors, not the keypad, when those batteries go bad.

My guess is that the main back up battery is dying and my questions are as follows:

1) Does this seem like a reasonable diagnosis or might something else be wrong?

2) What might be a good site for batteries?

3) Any good links with instructions for replacement?

Thanks!

Rick

Welcome to the forums.

Can you open the alarm panel to see the control board ?
There should be a model number on it. You should also see the 12v battery in there.

Is this a monitored alarm ?
Many alarms will beep when they can't communicate with the monitoring company.
