ADT Safewatch pro 3000

Hey guys,

I just moved into a house that has the ADT safe watch pro 3000. From what I was told by the real-estate agent was that this system was bought and paid for. For right now I don't want to have a monitoring service. So far I have made my own Master code, by using the methods of other's on this forum. I guess my question is what else do I need to do? Any other programming that needs to be done? Use it like it is? I've seen on other threads of people disconnecting the phone line in the lock box, does that really need to be done? Anyways, I'm just looking for some direction.

Thanks

Turn off the dialer by going into programming and entering *41* *42* and *94*.

If all your zones work, that's it; it'll work just fine as a local system.

Hey Thanks! Got it done pretty quick! I was also wondering are the past access codes for previous owners/babysitters erased when I put a new master code in?

Thanks!

No, and there's no way to view whether there are any codes in the secondary slots. All you can do is delete the first 6-10 secondary codes.

In reality, in a residential system, it's uncommon for there to be more than a couple of user codes programmed in beyond the master code.

Secondary code start at slot 03 right? So just start deleting from there? Also I have been trying to set the date/time and it won't let me do it. I get to the date and time screen and I think your supposed to hit * to edit, and it just goes back to the main screen.

Thanks for all your help!

What keypad model do you have? If you have a 6150 keypad, you don't get into the time and other menus.

It looks like I have a 6160 Keypad comparing the pictures between that and 6150.

User manual: http://www.westminstersecurity.com/m...ista15_20P.pdf

Are you using the command [user code] #63 and seeing the current time/date?

Yeah, I'm using that sequence to see the date/time, but when I hit * to edit, it just takes me back to the home screen.

Well, there's no "secret squirrel handshake" for this. It's possible that the ADT version has the ability to access this feature disabled (the main changes made with ADT logo versions of the Honeywell/Ademco hardware is to disable certain features, and some of them make no obvious sense, but there they are...)
