DSC Power632 / PC 1555MX Help

This is my first time ever working with an alarm system so I have a few questions. I currently have a DSC Power632 / PC 1555MX alarm installed with a PC5508Z keypad. I'd like to add some wireless zones to my system have been thinking of changing out the PC5508Z keypad with a RFK5500ENG keypad. From what I've read the RFK5500ENG is compatible with the PC 1555MX.

1) If I remove the old PC5508Z keypad and replace it with the RFK5500ENG, will the RFK5500ENG be able to connect to the system using the existing wiring?

2) Will the system programming on the PC 1555MX be maintained when the keypads are switched out or will I need to reprogram anything/everything?

3) By replacing the PC5508Z with a RFK5500ENG will I be able to add wireless sensors/zones to my alarm?

Thanks

The wiring connection for the keypad stays the same and uses the same wiring. (Power the system down to make/break keypad connections).

The system programming stays the same. You will have to enroll the new keypad, configure it, and run the module supervision process to delete the old keypad and enroll the new one.

The RF model keypad contains a wireless receiver, so you will be able to add wireless transmitters to the system.

Can you point me to a link that's written in laymen's terms or tell me how to enroll the new keypad, configure it, and run the module supervision process to delete the old keypad and enroll the new one? Looking through the manual for the 1555mx is like reading another language to me?

Thanks so much

Installer manual: http://www.sentinelsecurity.com/sssm...n%20Manual.pdf

Keypad installer manual: http://www.tbmsecurity.com/Documents/pk5500_eng.pdf

Enrolling the Keypad
The keypad will need to be assigned to a partition and slot if supervision or keypad zones are being used. Keypad assignments and keypad option
programming must be done at each keypad individually. The 1st digit of keypad assignment is
used to determine partition assignment (1 to 8). If partitioning is not used, enter [1]. For
Global Keypads, enter [0].
NOTE: LED and ICON keypads cannot be programmed as Global Keypads The 2nd digit of keypad assignment is used to determine slot assignment for keypad supervision. Each keypad will be assigned a different slot number from 1 to 8. PK5500 and RFK5500 LCD keypads come defaulted in slot 8. If LCD keypads are used one LCD keypad must remain in slot 8.
NOTE: The RFK55XX enrolls as two modules:
Light 1 = keypad section of the RFK55XX
Light 17 = receiver section of the RFK55XX
NOTE: Deleting all wireless devices from the RFK55XX or defaulting the
RFK55XX will cause a supervisory fault.
Enter the following at each keypad installed on the system:
1. Enter Installer Programming by pressing [✱][8][Installer’s Code]
2. Press [000] for Keypad Programming
3. Press [0] for Partition and Slot Assignment
4. Enter the 1st digit (0 to 8 for partition assignment)
5. Enter the 2nd digit (1 to 8 for slot assignment supervision)
6. Press the [#] key twice to exit programming.
7. After assigning all keypads, perform a supervisory reset by entering
[✱][8][Installer’s Code][902] and wait for 60 seconds.
8. Press the [#] key to exit programming after 60 seconds.

I have the same Setup: DSC Power632 / PC 1555MX
I have a defaulted systems, with the Installation code.

Zones set up as followed:

1 - Front Door
2 - Garage Door - Interior
3 - Back Deck Door
4 - Back Basement Door
5 - Basement Motion (Occupied)
6 - Main Floor Motion (Occupied)

Is this accurate for a full lock down?

*8 Program mode
5555 Install Code
001 Zone 1-8 Definition
01 Zone01 / Delay 1
01 Zone02 / Delay 1
01 Zone03 / Delay 1
02 Zone04 / Delay 2
03 Zone05 / Instant
03 Zone06 / Instant

# # End Programming

I am just trying to program and get the zones installed. I have never done it this way before.

Is it your intention for all of the perimeter doors to have an entry/exit delay?

Is it you intention for all of the interior motion detectors to be instant alarms and chime? If not, zone type 4 (interior) or 5 (interior stay/away) are the more appropriate choice.

I would like to set different codes. One code to completely secure the house when I am away.

And one code to set for when I am in the house, and if someone opens the door the alarm goes off after a delay to try to turn the alarm off.

I think I am close..

User codes don't work that way.

What you are trying to do is Away Arming; Stay Arming; and Instant arming. Read over the user command section of the installer manual, or user manual. You don't use a different code; you use a different arming command.

That's why zone type is important. It determines how a zone will behave in different arming configurations.
