Hardwire FrontPoint (GE Simon XT) control panel

Hey all.

Just got a FrontPoint kit with a Simon XT control panel. I didn't realize that it needs to be plugged in (I know...). At any rate, where I would like to install it, there aren't any nearby outlets. I could add one, but I like the idea of a cleaner look without a plug.

I'd like to know if it can be hardwired into a box with some sort of transformer.

If so, what am I after?

The ideal setup would be to mount the panel in front of a Junction box that could hold the transformer, etc.

Thanks.

By and large, that's between you and your electrician. There's no technical reason it wouldn't work. Just don't use a metal enclosure.
