Concord 4 Alarm

I have a Concord 4 alarm system but can't figure out why this behavior is occurring and if there is a way to turn it off.

If I arm the system to stay or away and enter my code in, then leave like all is normal. Once I get home and the system starts beeping waiting for me to disarm it, if instead I hit the AWAY/STAY key and put in the pin it actually disarms it. I don't want it to disarm unless I hit disarm.

This is causing an issue on my home automation system where I have a shortcut key by the door to arm the house to STAY(no motion detection). An intruder could just press the button after he breaks in and disarm the system so I have disabled the button for now but would like to get it working properly.

So the bottom line is, is there a way to only disarm the system if someone hits disarm? Away and Stay should not be disarming the system.

Is this one of the keypad function keys, or is this a button that's been connected to a zone set up as a keyswitch?
