FA168 system ready light works displays do not

Hi,

My Adamco FA168 system ( fixed word display) is not working properly, symptoms are:

neither of the two displays work
The armed and ready keys light properly
the overall system seems to work
120VAC to system is good, did have power outage three weeks ago for two hours
Battery reads good 13.75VDC, have not load tested

One keypad beeps continuously at seemingly random times till a key is pressed, the first time the beeping occurred display indicated A/C Batt, but since then nothing.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Steve

On a guess, the keypads aren't getting data. Either one of them has failed and is keeping the other from working, or the wiring from the keypad data connection to the motherboard is mechanically damaged. Try powering down, disconnect one keypad and restore power. If no luck, reconnect the first, and disconnect the second.

Good idea but no joy.
I totally powered down, disconnected one keypad, powered up, tested, then the same on the other keypad, but the same indications with one difference now; the 3 leds on the side of the display light up when a key is pushed on both displays. This was not happening before.

Did not see any mechanical/wiring issues. The power out in the first post was controlled, putting in ceiling fans. No one has been in the main box or the keypads.

With the information provided, I can only can conclude that your main board has failed.
