compatibility with ESL 425 CST smoke detector

We have an alarm system with 10 ESL 425 CST smoke detectors. One gave a false alarm, and I had someone come look at it. He says since the system is over 10 yrs old (15 yrs), all detectors need to be replaced.

Is that the case? I would just like to replace the one, but he says it is no longer made, and there may be compatibility issues with replacing just one with a different model.

Which newer model ESL detector would work with my other 425 CST's?

Thank you.

The current 2 wire ESL smokes are compatible with your existing ones. Unless you are using something like a reversing module or an interface module, in reality, _any_ 2-wire smoke is going to be compatible.
