New Wireless System

We are moving to a house and are a little concerned about security. We are actually more concerned about trouble when we are not there as opposed to personal security when home. Could someone recommend a wireless system for our needs until we are familiar with the area at which point we may upgrade or not use. Thus, a simple wireless would be what we prefer.

Thank you

I would mainly recommend being aware. Too much to mention but things such as: locking things up when you leave [at least keep out of sight from windows], long screws into your door jams, get to know neighbors, etc., etc.

Security systems are all about the same. Depends on what you want to do with it: security, home automation, cellular, cameras, remote access, no monitoring, et al. -- "You get what you pay for".

Just stick with the major brands (Honeywell/Ademco, DSC, GE/UTC, etc.)
Don't get sucked in by the no-name auction site cheapies. Those are limited, cheap, junk.
