08 dayzone tamper

Hi all,

I have a NAPCO alarm with GEM-K1CA Keypad..

Alarm is suddenly beeping with the error 08 DAYZONE TAMPER.

Zone 8 is not a physical zone in the house.

Anyone now how to fix this...Currently have the Zone 8 Bypassed.
Nothing in the manual refers to this error code..
Manual says

Day Zone: A zone that will
cause a visual and audible
indication at the keypad if it
is in trouble while disarmed.

Thx for any help

Ray..

If there is no zone wiring connected to the zone 8 terminals, and the resistor is in place for that zone as a dummy load, you should be clear. Could the original installer have connected the RJ-31x alarm phone jack as a tamper zone?

Hiya and thx for the reply...

I don't know if anything is physically wired to Zone 8 terminals as I have not opened the alarm.
I'm not an alarm technician...But previously when there is a zone alarm 1 - 7 I can check the sub error codes which would then tell me Low battery on sensor in zone 1 - 7 or a problem with a particular zone....08 Dayzone Tamper I have no idea what this could mean.....The fact that it says tamper maybe means keyboard tamper or alarm unit tamper in the error codes but there are no sub error codes tied to this 08 Dayzone
